Planning Infrastructure & Economic Development

Road Resurfacing 
11 projects total, highlights include::

  • $1.4M – Victoria St. from 8th Line Rd. to York Corners Rd.
  • $1.2M – 8th Line Rd. at Marvelville Rd.
  • $1.2M – Marvelville Rd. from Bank St. to 9th Line Rd.

 

Sidewalks

  • $41K – Dow St. from 230m West of 8th Line Rd. to 8th Line Rd.
  • $38K – Victoria St. from Glenwood Dr. to 30m East of Caroline St.

 

Stormwater: Drainage Infrastructure ($3.34 Million)

  • 47 culverts/projects

 


Traffic Services

  • $600,000 for the Realignment Construction of the Apple Orchard/Parkway at Stagecoach under the New Traffic Control Devices Program 
     
    • $400,000 in additional funding to initiate Construction (2017)
  • $40,000 for Strategic Initiatives under the Temporary Traffic Calming Measures Program. Locations determined annually with ward Councillor
  • $35,000 for the installation of PXO at 1 location: 
     
    • 8th line between Eldo and Russell (Type C)
    • $3,500- $40,000 is allocated per year to install PXO at 1 feasible location if any qualify. The cost of the PXO depends on the type of PXO to be installed.
  • Street Lighting Major Replacements:  Quinn Farm Phase 2
  • Pedestrian Countdown Signals Program:  Installation of device at one traffic control signal within the Ward
  • $50,000 one-time funding for 911 Civic Address Blades on rural properties

 

Transportation Planning

  • $4.14 million investment City-wide in community connectivity enhancements, including a pathway connection from Doug Thompson Pathway to Manotick Link
  • $600,000 for implementation of intersection control measure improvements at Mitch Owens Road and Manotick Station

  • $85,000 for Andy Shields Park – Pathway
  • $240,000 for Greely South Pebble Trail Woods Development – Design & Construction
  • $774,000 for Emerald Links Parks Phases 1-3 – Design & Construction
  • $970,000 for Buckles Street Park 1 Development – Design & Construction
  • $7,500 for Osgoode Public School Play Structure (Minor Community Partnership Program)
  • $65,000 for McKendry Park Outdoor Rink Lighting Replacement
  • $1.18M for Buckles Street Park 2 – Design & Construction
  • $428,000 for Shadow Ridge Phase 2 – Calwood Park – Design & Construction

  • Fire Station 92 Osgoode – Type II condition audit
  • Fire Station 93 Greely – Type II condition audit
  • Larry Robinson Arena – Replace community hall and zamboni room roof, infrared electrical scan, structural adequacy review, type II condition audit
  • Metcalfe Roads Garage 01 & 02 – Type II condition audit
  • Osgoode CC and Stuart Holmes Arena – Replace compressor #2, roof over community hall, structural adequacy review, design replacement of electrical equipment in the refrigeration room
  • Historical Society Museum – Roof replacement
  • Greely West Park Playground – Design replacement of senior/junior play structures and play equipment
  • Harold Barnhart Park Playground – Design replacement of senior/junior play structures and play equipment
  • Josee Anselmo Memorial Park Playground – Design replacement of senior/junior play structures and play equipment
  • McKendry Park Outdoor Ice Surface – Replace sports lighting

Public Works and Environmental Services

  • $15,000 - Canada 150 Maple Grove Project. Planting a grove of 150 native Canada Maple trees as a legacy project for Canada’s 150th anniversary celebration
  • $200,000 – Water Environment Strategy Implementation – North Castor Streambank Restoration Project
  • $24.8 Million – Communal Well Rehabilitation Project. Funding envelope for retrofit, rehabilitation and/or replacement of asset components at 5 communal well based drinking water systems across the city, including the Shadow Ridge Subdivision in Greely (Ward 20).  Typical projects include: condition assessment; control and instrumentation rehabilitations; water treatment and process upgrades; well condition and capacity testing

 

Multi Wards

  • $1.3 Million -  125,000 trees on target to be planted across all wards to increase forest cover in urban, suburban and rural areas, and assist in managing the impact of the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) on the City’s streets, facilities, parks and natural spaces
